KATY HESSEL has been almost single-handedly redressing that balance since 2015 with her project, The Great Women Artists. Her best-selling book, The Story of Art without Men (Hutchinson Heinemann, 2022), restores for the first time the role of women who have been rendered invisible by the industry of art history but who have made fundamental contributions to its development.
